Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) won the Corporate Philanthropy Award 2012 in recognition for philanthropy contribution to social development in Pakistan for the year 2012 under the auspicious Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Speaker, Sindh Assembly presented the award to Basharat A Mirza, Executive Director Strategic Business Planning OGDCL, on behalf of OGDCL Managing Director in a ceremony held at Karachi.

The award is based on a survey of 490 public listed companies involving interviews and review of annual and financial reports conducted by PCP, which is based on the research reports titled "Corporate Philanthropy in Pakistan: Survey of Public Listed Companies 2011".

This is a research initiative which highlights the contributions of various segments of corporate sector for development of social sector. It estimates the volume, nature and practice of philanthropy in the corporate world; it highlights the areas company preferred to support and various venues they use to contribute funds, times and in kind giving for social causes. The company is engaged in aggressive Corporate Social Welfare Programme (CSR) where its operations are located and is receiving this award for the last several years.-PR
